In Recovery
We interrupt this slow recovery from winter-yuck-illness to bring you fun house guests, late nights, and too much wine. Now that it is Monday again you may go along your sniffly way.
I hope you all had weekends as fun as this one was for us. One of Mr. M’s good friends from college came to visit us with his lovely wife. After having a difficult time flying from Houston through the 20-state-wide winter warnings and advisories that blanketed the country on Friday, they finally arrived in the wee hours of Saturday morning, ready for a cocktail of relaxation and fun. Bonchitis? Head cold? What are you talking about? Last week I told the doctor that I absolutely had to be back on my feet by Friday, and he delivered! But, of course, when you go from 0 to 100 within twelve hours, you fall to half-speed again fairly quickly late… so I’m a wee bit slow (and obviously ramble-y) today.
In other news….
Wine and Design is still in the process of being rescheduled. Some of you may have received a notice last week stating that the party would be held on February 3. Unfortunately, the national weather has affected this plan, as well. Saturday night a wonderful all-female sax quartet called The Tiptons was to have played at 701 CCA. Friday’s weather left the band stranded on Interstate 81 and they were unable to make it, so the concert has been rescheduled for this Friday in the East Room at Dianne’s on Devine (with a special dinner menu available). Many of the artists involved with Wine and Design are also involved with this project, so a scheduling conflict is obvious. Because the stars of the Dianne’s event are coming from out of town, I told the organizers not to worry, I’d be happy to move my event one last time. Besides, this is going to be an amazing concert in an intimate and interactive setting. It is sure to be the hottest ticket in Columbia that night (and you non-Columbians, the quartet will be performing in Chattanooga, TN; Marietta, GA; and Winter Garden, FL over the next week). Check out their website for tour date details, and if you are local, call 803.779.4571 for details for this Friday’s concert.
Note: I am currently waiting on a confirmation for the new date of Wine and Design. As soon as I have it, I will post on Facebook and Twitter today, and will also put up a post by midweek.
